Originally from Bronx, NY, I have worked with a huge demographic.I have worked as a contractor for the Army Reserve as a Youth Services Specialist responsible for Family Programming, Yellow Ribbon Re-Integration Events, Battle Weekends, etc. In addition, to enhance my social services background, I have also served as a Care Ambassador with CDC assisting with Ebola outreach prevention services. I believe in transparency and open communication. I tell all that therapy does not mean that you're crazy as that is the common perception. Therapy/life coaching/mentoring, simply means you need guidance or an ear to listen to. I am available!

Treatment modalities include but are not limited to: DBT, CBT, Strengths-Based, Motivational Interviewing, Gestalt therapy interventions, I am able to complete anger management assessments, trauma assessments, substance abuse assessments,

bio-psychosocial assessments, and various training.

My motto is: "Therapy should be like good music. When the music is good, You're engaged. When it is bad, the first option is to switch to something else that's worth listening to."

Initiating counseling services can be difficult for many, as there is unfortunately a stigma in our society that associates mental health challenges with weakness or deficiency. I like to think of therapy as cognitive and emotional self care. We go to the doctor for check-ups or when sick, and workout to improve or maintain our physical bodies. How is our emotional well being any different?

My goal is to provide a safe, non-judgmental space for exploration and collaboration to find solutions to the problems many of us face. This can include stressors and feeling overwhelmed; sadness, difficult family and relationship dynamics, grief/loss, and trauma exposure. Our experiences, good, bad or indifferent, shape our outlook and perspective, which may result in the need of a compassionate aid to reevaluate how we cope with challenges moving forward.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Georgia, with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Appalachian State University. Working with adolescents and adults, I strive to develop a personable, yet professional rapport with clients, while utilizing evidenced based modalities in an eclectic manner best suited to my client’s needs and world view.

Modalities of focus include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, Trauma Informed with EMDR, Solution Focused, and Narrative Therapy.

Lucy Changwe

My name is Lucy Changwe, PMHNP-BC, MSN, BSN. I have worked as a professional nurse for over 30years. My nursing professional journey started in Zambia, where I obtained my initial RN license. I left Zambia in 2002 to England. While in England I had the chance to work in various nursing units at three different hospitals over a period of 5 years on a full-time basis. After my 5 years stay in England, I got the opportunity to move to the USA in 2007. While here, I have worked at various acute care hospital facilities over the years. I spent the last three years of my nursing career doing travel nursing. The travel nursing experience gave me a chance to visit and work in various states and facilities. The experience afforded me more opportunities to care for patients with various health challenges including medical, surgical, cardiac, behavioral, and mental health disorders. I got my BSN from the University of Texas at Arlington and my master’s degree in nursing, with a concentration in Psychiatry, from Walden University.

When the time came for me to decide on a specialty to concentrate on, it came as an easy choice to choose mental health. Taking care of people is my passion, and I have so much passion caring for patients with mental health disorders. I love my line of work. I care about every individual and their families that come under my care. I use a holistic approach in taking care of clients with various mental illnesses that include but not limited to bipolar disorders, Schizophrenia, depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, to mention but a few. I look forward to welcoming my clients of every race, creed, and color, to a safe space, confidential and nonjudgement environment.

Amina Banjo

My journey as a healthcare provider began with a rewarding experience as a travel nurse. This opportunity allowed me to explore various healthcare settings across the country, gaining invaluable experience in caring for patients with diverse medical and mental health needs. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and a Master's degree as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from Chamberlain University. My academic training, combined with my clinical experience, has equipped me with the knowledge and tools to provide evidence-based care. From acute care to psychiatric settings, I've honed my skills in managing complex conditions such as anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, anger management, personality disorders, and substance use disorders.

I'm passionate about utilizing medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to help individuals overcome substance use disorders. I've successfully supported patients on medications like Vivitrol, Brixadi, Suboxone, and Naltrexone. I’m committed to providing a safe and supportive space for you to heal and grow.

In 2024, I created Thriving Together, LLC. and it's more than just a name; it's a philosophy. To me, thriving means cultivating resilience, finding joy, and building a fulfilling life.
