About Us

Jhavon Kornegay, LMSW

I am a Licensed Social Worker and Associate Psychotherapist from Brooklyn, New York. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from Touro College.

Growing up in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, I knew there was a need for high-quality mental health services in underserved communities. Therefore, I focus my clinical practice and research on providing high-quality services and evidence-based interventions to vulnerable populations. I treat all clients with dignity, respect, and unconditional positive regard regardless of socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, race, or religion.

I specialize in working with young professionals, children, and adolescents. I have assisted clients with anxiety disorders, depression, autism, ADHD, and trauma or stressor-related disorders improve their overall well-being. I believe that your past is not a forecast for your future.

I have worked in various behavioral health settings providing counseling services to diverse client populations. I have worked in a public school setting providing individual, group, and family counseling to clients who were living in temporary housing situations. I have also worked on an Assertive Community Treatment team providing individual and family counseling services to clients living with serious mental illnesses. I’ve also worked in outpatient mental health clinics where I have provided individual and family counseling to children and adolescents and LGBTQ clients living with HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis C.

I draw from a wide variety of therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Play Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I am currently working towards becoming a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional and Postpartum Doula.

Migdalia Moore, LMSW

I am a Licensed Social Worker who holds a Masters from Long Island University. My concentration was Substance and Alcohol Use and I currently hold a CASAC-T. I have over 10 years of experience working in social services at different capacities with a variety of populations dealing with Bipolar, Depression, Anxiety, and Grief. I am passionate about helping people and I believe in a holistic approach consisting of keeping a balance between the body, mind, and spirit. I am currently seeking a Masters in Divinity to learn how to integrate our spiritual beings with our physical and mental beings.

I believe having a diagnosis does not define an individual, it just means they need assistance with acquiring certain skills and tools to thrive. We are all unique in our own ways and process information differently. Some might need more help than others, it does not make them less than. I believe in Positive Psychology, which is a scientific approach to studying human thoughts, feelings, and behaviors while focusing on strengths instead of weaknesses. My goal is to encourage individuals in making long-lasting effects so they can make meaningful contributions in their communities with their own personal gifts and talents.

”Not everybody can be famous but everyone can be great because greatness is determined by service. You only need a heart full of grace and a soul generated by love.”-- Dr. Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.
